What is your earliest memory that motivated you to pursue a design career?
In 1981, I was honored with the Art Award at my high school graduation! This sent me in pursuit of a more serious direction toward a design career.
What's been your design process when you develop this Infuse collection for Durkan?
This collection was inspired by a blending of retro and modern Floridian architecture, patterning, and color. By adding in unexpected elements to the initial idea, the collection formed a strong foundation that is sealed together with the use of 1960’s and 1970’s color combinations.
When you are short on inspiration how do you reenergize; where do you go for inspiration?
Not necessarily in this order, I glance at the trends, soak in nature, and study art history. Last and most importantly, I then rely on my God-given instincts and desire to create new and different textile designs.
