How long have you been working in the Industry?
A little over 2 years. Previously I was in the home goods and fashion industries.
What territory do you currently cover?
The Pacific North Wes
What inspires you professionally?
I love seeing what colors are currently trending, and also the various types of inspiration clients have on their mood boards.
What is your favorite aspect of your job?
When I get to design something new from scratch especially when I have to paint or draw it first. But being able to work from home in my sweatpants is also a plus.
What are your most favorite things on your desk?
Definitely my Wacom drawing tablet and my blue light glasses. I also can’t forget to mention my heated blanket, even though its not technically “on” my desk.
When you are short on inspiration how do you reenergize; where do you go for inspiration?
Just getting out of the house is helpful. Whether it is in a city or in nature, I’ll get excited about an interesting leaf, some new graffiti, or the texture a shadow makes.
What made you decide to showcase the trend/designs that you selected?
Well I find it very relaxing to create repetitive marks and lines while I’m drawing, and it seemed like in our archive we only had a few designs that felt like handmade watercolors which has been a popular hobby for people during quarantine. I wanted to combine those mediums organically to create designs that could feel imperfect and hand made.
